Material Requirements
Main Material3: Usually, materials like polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) are used. These materials should be environmentally friendly, non-toxic, harmless to the human body, and have good aging resistance to ensure long-term use without deformation, cracking, or other issues.
Accessory Materials: Hinges, locks, and other accessories are preferably made of stainless steel and other rust-resistant materials3. The hinges should have a support mechanism to prevent the box cover from slipping suddenly3. The locks should be easy to open and close, firmly installed, and not easily damaged3.
Strength and Rigidity: The box should have sufficient strength and rigidity to withstand a certain amount of external pressure and impact without significant deformation or damage. For example, it should be able to bear a certain weight when people step on it or when there are external objects pressing on it.
Waterproof and Dustproof: It should have good waterproof and dustproof performance to prevent water and dust from entering the box and affecting the normal operation of the water meter3. It is better to reach the IP66 or above protection level.
Antifreeze Performance: In cold regions, the plastic water meter protection box is required to have good antifreeze performance to prevent the water meter and pipelines from freezing and cracking.
Corrosion Resistance: It should have strong corrosion resistance and be able to resist the erosion of chemical substances in the air, water, and soil to ensure the service life of the box.
Molding Process: The box is usually made by injection molding or compression molding to ensure the accuracy and stability of the product size and the uniformity of the wall thickness3.
Surface Treatment: The surface of the box should be smooth, without burrs, cracks, or other defects. Some products may also require surface anti-slip treatment to prevent slipping in rainy and snowy weather.
Assembly Requirements: Each part of the box should be assembled closely and firmly, and the connection parts should be sealed to ensure the overall performance of the box.
Service Life: The normal service life of the plastic water meter protection box should be no less than 15 years, and all indicators should not be lower than the technical parameters provided by the manufacturer within the service life.
